I dropped off my work today, packaged up safely for it’s trip to Berlin!
Excitingly, a collection of work by students off my course has been selected to be part of ILLUSTRATIVE ’09, which, this year, will be held in Berlin.
ILLUSTRATIVE is an annual forum of international illustrative and graphic arts, which brings together and exhibits work by over 60 artists from around the world. The exhibition, now in it’s fifth year, includes work in a wide range of media, from drawing and painting to 3D installations and animation. The forum is a celebration of contemporary illustration and graphic work, the diversity of the which aims to challenge the constrictive boundaries within contemporary industry practices and offers exciting new perspectives for the future. British Artists previously included in the forum include Luke Best and William Edmonds.
Our work will be included in the festival’s International Degree Exhibition – a showcase of new talent from 5 selected European arts institutes, which will run alongside the main exhibition. This will be on show in the IMA Design Village – a vibrant shared venue of living, working, recreational and gallery spaces in the center of the city. The venue is also offering a scholarship to selected graduates, giving three emerging artists the opportunity to live and work at the Design Village, in the hub of a city that boasts the highest concentration of practicing artists in the world.
